Novalis Shaped Beam Surgery from BrainLAB is the most sophisticated radiation system available for patients undergoing stereotactic radiosurgery and radiotherapy.

Novalis Shaped Beam Surgery delivers continuous radiation while changing the shape of the beam to match the exact contour of the tumor or lesion. Sophisticated software calculates ideal access points and defi nes the treatment plan. Hundreds of beams are delivered from numerous angles, allowing precision treatment in a short timeframe.
The procedure is noninvasive and virtually painless, and the patient remains awake throughout. In most cases, it is performed on an outpatient basis.
"This is an alternative treatment option for patients who cannot benefi t from traditional surgery because tumors are located in inoperable areas, because of the increased risk of harming critical structures near the tumor or because of other illnesses," says Dr. Dass.
